SANT PERE DE RIBES - BARCELONA, 2020

In Sant Pere de Ribes, a picturesque town in Penedés surrounded by vineyards and forests, adjacent to Sitges, stands an architectural gem- a historic residential house from 1975 nestled in the heart of the Garraf Natural Park. It captivates with its extraordinary oval shape in a section of the house, a defining feature that exudes an unparalleled charm.

The client entrusted us with her home, which had been rented for many years, facing numerous functionality and comfort issues. Our collaboration aimed high: to infuse contemporary life into this home while preserving its original charm, notably the iconic '70s green terrazzo floors.

The project consisted of a Bespoke Interior Design project for this 150 sqm home, incorporating aspects of architecture, interior design, decoration and an integral renovation, with our trusted building team.

Through a meticulous renovation, we created a functional and bright home— a space that can effortlessly transition from social gatherings to moments of calm. The result is a fusion of modern sophistication and timeless charm, harmonizing with the stunning outdoor landscape through thoughtfully crafted interiors.

The interior distributed over two levels, underwent significant layout enhancements to optimize functionality and flow of the rooms. On the first floor, the original 8sqm kitchen, small and plain, experienced a huge transformation. Through our intervention, it evolved into a spacious 30sqm kitchen— dining area with beautiful views to the valley. The Cheyenne Granite worktop and backsplash provides this kitchen with personality. Above the backsplash, a shelf made of the same material offers the possibility of displaying small treasures and decorating the kitchen with ease. The original bathroom received an upgrade, featuring a generously-sized custom-built shower that gracefully adjusts to the space's curvature. The green terrazzo floor was uplifted by our touch of elegance— a sleek black slate skirting. Naturally, all facilities were modernized. The access to the second floor was redecorated with an artistic creation- a beautiful Origamis installation above the staircase. Origami paper cranes symbolize good fortune, healing, hope, peace and love and were an opportunity to creating a beautiful art display in a particular space of the house that was lacking magic. The second floor originally consisted of a 36 sqm open oval- a cold, damp area with limited views, formerly used as the water tanks location. With our help, this room was transformed into an elegant Master Suite bedroom offering panoramic views of the Garraf's natural park, now a bright and inviting sanctuary. Throughout these transformations, our commitment to preserving the home's original features, notably its flooring, remained intact, harmonizing seamlessly with a more contemporary aesthetic.
